Affiliate Disclosure
Published
WetsuitCenter makes money from affiliate links. We want that relationship to be obvious rather than buried, so this page explains exactly how it works and what we do to keep our recommendations independent of revenue.
What an affiliate link is
When you click a product link or "check price" button on this site and then buy something from the destination retailer, WetsuitCenter may earn a small commission. The price you pay is the same whether you click through us or not. The commission is paid by the retailer out of their margin, not by you out of your pocket. There is no markup on our end, no separate fee, and no special "affiliate price."
Every affiliate link on the site is routed through our internal redirect at
/go/[slug]. Those redirect pages carry the
rel="sponsored noopener nofollow" attributes that Google and the FTC
recommend for paid links. Hover any product link on this site and you will see a
/go/ URL in your browser status bar. That is how you know it is an
affiliate link.
Programs we participate in
Currently, WetsuitCenter participates in:
- Amazon Associates. Our Amazon tracking tag is
wetsuitcenter-20. WetsuitCenter.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. - FlexOffers (Wetsuit Wearhouse). When we link to Wetsuit Wearhouse, the link routes through FlexOffers' affiliate network.
- ShareASale partners. A handful of dive specialty retailers and wetsuit-adjacent brands run their affiliate programs through ShareASale. We use those programs where the retailer makes sense for the recommendation.
- Direct brand programs. A few wetsuit brands run their own programs directly or through smaller networks (AvantLink, Impact, Refersion). We participate where available and where the brand actually carries the suit we want to point you at.
The list of active programs and partners shifts over time. If you want to verify a specific link, every product slug on the site maps to an entry in our affiliate registry, and we are happy to share details on request.
Editorial independence
The single most important sentence on this page: commission rates do not influence what we recommend. We have a small set of rules we hold to:
- No pay-to-rank. We do not accept money from a brand to feature their suit, rank it higher, or change review language.
- The right pick is the right pick. If the suit with the higher commission is not the right answer for the use case, we do not pretend it is.
- We link to non-partners. When the best answer is a suit we cannot earn on, we still tell you about it.
- We flag untested picks. If a recommendation is based on research and specs rather than hands-on testing, we say so in the article.
For the full picture of how we test and review, see How We Review Wetsuits. For who we are and where our credentials come from, see About the WetsuitCenter Team.
Required Amazon Associates language
As an Amazon Associate, WetsuitCenter.com earns from qualifying purchases. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
What we will not do
- Publish sponsored posts dressed up as independent reviews.
- Add affiliate links to other writers' content without disclosure.
- Use fake "was/now" pricing or fake countdowns to manufacture urgency.
- Recommend gear we have not researched or, where possible, used.
Questions or concerns
If something on the site looks like undisclosed sponsorship, or you have a question about a specific affiliate relationship, get in touch. We will look into it and reply within a few business days.
